JOKE - Party Rock Music from Paris-France

In 10 years of activism, Joke has sold 10 000 albums, played more than 400 concerts in more than 15 different countries. If you're a bit shy when it comes to dancing and having fun, don't worry, Joke will surely help you out.

The 8 musicians (Drums, Guitar, Bass, Singer, Turntables and 3 Horns), are all perfectly synchronised on the stage and cruising around in their van, extending their influence worldwide for insignificant profit. And if they became activist music, it's not thanks to them. It is thanks to the people who see it as a rebellion scream. The JOKE is an error in the classical cultural industry.

They do love being errors. They are ERRORISTS.

2011

Crisis everywhere...In the crisis we are all part of the problem, not part of the solution. That is good.

So, as every state, The Joke got down into debts...For years, it played in support to all unlikely causes, now it's time that The Joke receive support.

But no matter, this won't stop anyone !! So through this year, The Joke applied its favorite tour formula: 3 times on the road for 10days/10gigs tours: "L'Arsène Tour", "Dark (re)Generation Tour" and "Beyond the Bankrupt Tour" in Slovenia, Macedonia, Serbia, Czeich Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Germany, Croatia and Bosnia.

It's also the year that the new Joke babies generation arrived to invade the planet...

2010

Begining of the year is full !! before releasing its new album, The Joke and its remixers international friends gave to the world as a gift a remix album called "Délégué Zéro 0.1" and on tour again: 10 days 10 gigs is again the formula, it's the "Some Like It Cold" tour in Czech Republik, Slovakia, Germany and Hungary.

Then, the new album is released: "En Vente Dans Ce Monde De Merde" (For sale in this shitty world) in june with a release party in one famous jazz concert hall in Paris.

Time again to go in political exile abroad, more and more to the East, during summer : It's the "For sale in this shitty world" Tour, 1 month and 22 concerts in Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Montenegro, and Czeich Republik.

2009

Joke officially became The Joke, created the International Organization for the Protection of Gay Centaurs and joined the separatist organization "Ile de France Independence."

The band toured internationally to pursue this project and reconnect with his roots: it's the Ultimatum Tour, the 10 concerts in 10 days formula is launched. The concert halls are full with ecstatic audience and concerts are sold-out. The Joke returned to France strengthened its convictions.

2008

2008 was the year of boose, it was the year of hangover for the Joke. First step of the decay of the band: the national distribution of the disk DZ. Facing the maneuverings of the recording industry, Joke ends up ruined and the band felt in deep depression.

If the privacy of band members must be respected, History will still record rehabs sessions, stays in jail and psychiatric hospitals, fightings, the convenience store robberies to finance the band's activities and the integration of the star system and show business.

But pulling hitself together and listening to the voice of Tim the frog, 2008 has finished in beauty for Joke: a new tour in Algeria, where the public deliriums and the Algerian youth made ??it clear for the band that its mission in this world was not completed yet. We should overlap the centaur!

2007

Ketlar leaves us to take care of his new family as he became a father ! (oh yeah you must be available and get money !). Just before leaving, he recorded with us the fourth Maxi of the band, called "Delegate Zero" (8 tracks) which was released in April. So by now, Tim is the one who joined us on trumpet!

And to continue our international exchanges, in April, AOLF and Joke invite an Algerian band named Djmawi Africa for a week of cultural exchanges and concerts in Paris. And then, the personal and musical fusion was just wicked... And to finish the year, a 10-day tour in Balkans!

2006

International Year!

First great tour in Algeria, thanks to Yazid and the association Le Souk

First tour in Balkans also (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia) organized by the band on its own: we couldn't dream it better. The audience got more and more present and followed the energy of the group. It's been great fun.

It is also during this tour that the brass band version of Joke was born. Picking up pieces of other bands such as the "Bouches confesses", Nymphoniks, the Joke and the Ouiches Lorènes, the "Joky Grass Gang" (name of the brass band), set fire everywhere it went, sometimes even overshadowing The Joke .The line-Up: Vincent on bass drum, Nico on snare drum, Bino on baritone, Julien and Laurence on trombone , Ketlar on trumpet and DJ Chiffon on tambourine. This band had only one purpose : getting a max of money !

This year also, DJ Chiffon replaces DJ Num's ... but well who cares!

Resuts of the year ... more than 50 concerts ...

2005

Recording of a new 4-tracks disc: "Corbeaux" (Crows), the first one of the great tradition of freedom price (give what you want, what you can) Thanks to the NGO "Alors on le fait ?!" ("So, let's do it?" ), Joke goes on tour with Skalopes, Fizcus, Duberman and Bouches Confesses through Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo.
